CS00823 - REB Flagbearer | The Collectors Showcase

Infantry action during the American Civil War could change rapidly from steady firing to close-range defence or a renewed advance. Within a Confederate battle line, officers, flagbearers and ordinary soldiers each had a distinct part to play in keeping a formation together.

At the centre of a Confederate line, a flagbearer provides both a visual landmark and a symbol of the formation itself. This figure adds height and an instantly recognisable feature to an infantry grouping. Pairing the standard with the REB Officer and nearby fighting troops creates the impression of a unit attempting to maintain its identity and cohesion amid the battlefield's changing conditions.

This 54mm Confederate miniature is suited to a display of troops in the midst of battle. Combine it with the other REB officers, standard-bearers and fighting poses to build a varied formation with convincing movement across the ground.
