The popular image of the Civil War cavalryman charging with sabre drawn represents only one part of mounted warfare.

CSBS-19 shows the Confederate trooper in the equally important role of dismounted combatant, where the mobility provided by his horse has delivered him to the fight but the action itself takes place on foot.
