GA-41 – Panzerkampfwagen Panther Ausf. D
The appearance of the Soviet T-34 had a major influence on German tank development, contributing to the creation of the Panther.
The first production version to see large-scale combat was the Panther Ausf. D, introduced in 1943. It combined sloped armour with a powerful 7.5cm KwK 42 L/70 gun, giving it formidable anti-tank capability.
Its combat debut at Kursk was troubled by mechanical problems, but continued development produced one of the most significant German tank designs of the later war.
GA-41 captures this important early Panther and makes a commanding centrepiece for an Eastern Front armoured collection.
Available from The Military Workshop – an imposing John Jenkins Designs Panther Ausf. D representing a major step in German wartime tank development.
