GLA-05B – ANZAC Casualties – Blue Shirts – Gallipoli
The terrain of the Gallipoli Peninsula made the recovery of wounded men extraordinarily difficult. Steep slopes, exposed ground and narrow communication trenches complicated the work of stretcher-bearers and medical personnel, particularly during periods of intense fighting.
GLA-05B depicts ANZAC casualties wearing blue shirts, providing another variation for recreating the aftermath of an assault.
Rather than grouping all casualty figures together, distributing them naturally behind advancing troops can tell a much stronger story. Some may lie near the original trench line, while others can be placed farther forward to show the progress and cost of an attack.
Combined with GLA-02 Friend in Need and other casualty sets, this release can form part of a particularly evocative Gallipoli scene.
Available through The Military Workshop – a detailed John Jenkins Designs ANZAC casualty set representing the very real human cost of the 1915 campaign.
