A tank without its crew can make an impressive display piece, but adding the men who operated it immediately gives the vehicle scale and personality.

GWB-02A portrays a crewman for the British Medium Mark A Whippet, designed to accompany John Jenkins Designs' GWB-02 tank.

Conditions inside First World War tanks were extremely uncomfortable. Crews worked in confined interiors filled with engine noise, heat, fumes and vibration while attempting to manoeuvre across heavily damaged terrain.

The Whippet itself required several men to operate its driving and machine-gun positions, making its crew every bit as important as the mechanical vehicle they occupied.

Position this figure alongside the tank during a halt, maintenance scene or crew briefing to show the human side of early armoured warfare.
