GWB-12A – Austin Armoured Car Crew
Armoured cars occupied an interesting place in First World War warfare. On suitable roads and open terrain they offered speed and mobile firepower, although the mud and shattered landscape of the Western Front could severely restrict their movement.
The British-built Austin armoured car became one of the better-known vehicles of its type.
GWB-12A – Austin Armoured Car Crew provides the human element needed to accompany such a vehicle.
Crew figures are particularly effective when displayed outside their machine during a halt, maintenance stop or briefing. They allow details of the men and their uniforms to be appreciated while giving the armoured car a much clearer sense of scale.
Combined with other transport, motorcycles and supply figures, they can form part of a busy road or rear-area scene away from the trenches.
Available from The Military Workshop – a detailed John Jenkins Designs Austin Armoured Car Crew bringing personality and activity to the mechanised side of the Great War.
