GWF-23 – Two PCDF Walking #2
The French Army mobilised millions of men during the First World War, and the movement of those soldiers became a constant feature of life behind the front.
GWF-23 – Two PCDF Walking #2 provides another pair of French infantrymen on the move, designed to complement the other walking figures without simply repeating the same poses.
They can represent troops heading forward to relieve a unit in the trenches, returning from the front, moving towards a new sector or simply passing through one of the countless roads and tracks behind the battlefield.
These quieter figures are particularly valuable when constructing a large diorama. A battlefield containing only men firing or charging can appear frozen at a single instant, whereas walking soldiers suggest the much broader rhythm of military life.
Combine GWF-23 with GWF-21, French transport and supply personnel to create an extended column moving through the rear areas of the Western Front.
Available from The Military Workshop – another finely detailed John Jenkins Designs two-man walking set for expanding the ranks of France's Great War infantry.
