GWF-40 – Three Machine Gun Crew

The machine gun became one of the defining weapons of the First World War, combining sustained automatic fire with the ability to dominate exposed ground.

GWF-40 – Three Machine Gun Crew represents a French team operating one of these crucial support weapons.

A machine gun was not simply a weapon and a gunner. Ammunition had to be supplied, the weapon positioned and maintained, and the crew had to work together to keep it firing effectively.

This three-man set gives the position a convincing sense of teamwork and is ideally placed within a prepared emplacement, trench or shell crater.

Infantry can be arranged around the crew while officers and ammunition carriers extend the scene. Positioned to cover an approach across No Man's Land, the gun becomes a natural focal point within the French defensive line.
