HMRR-01R – Centurion & Signifer – Red Shields
The armies of the Roman Mid-Republic fought the campaigns that transformed Rome from an Italian power into the dominant force of the Mediterranean world.
At the centre of this military system stood experienced officers and the standards around which Roman units maintained their identity and cohesion.
HMRR-01R combines a Centurion and Signifer, presented with the striking red shield option.
The centurion was one of the most important leaders within the Roman army. Far from being merely a ceremonial officer, he was expected to maintain discipline, organise his men and lead them in battle. Experience and personal authority were essential qualities.
Beside him stands the Signifer, the standard bearer. Military standards acted as practical rallying points and powerful symbols of the unit's identity. Protecting them was therefore a matter of both tactical importance and honour.
Together, the two figures form an excellent command vignette at the centre of a larger Republican Roman formation.
