IC-06A – Iceni Warrior Charging
The final confrontation between Boudica's coalition and the Roman army demonstrated the enormous importance of discipline, terrain and formation in ancient warfare.
Although the precise battlefield remains uncertain, the Roman force under Suetonius Paulinus was heavily outnumbered according to the surviving ancient accounts. The Romans nevertheless achieved a decisive victory.
IC-06A – Iceni Warrior Charging represents one of the tribal warriors surging forward into that violent style of close combat.
The figure works particularly well when combined with several different Iceni poses. Rather than creating an orderly rank, stagger the warriors across the terrain, with some farther ahead and others following behind. This gives the charge a far greater sense of momentum.
Opposite them, tightly grouped Roman infantry can create a dramatic visual contrast between the two sides.
IC-06A can equally be used for the earlier stages of the revolt, when Boudica's forces were sweeping through Roman-controlled settlements in southeastern Britain.
