IC-09B – Iceni Warrior Charging
IC-09B adds another warrior to the growing Iceni assault, giving collectors a further pose with which to build a large and visually varied tribal army.
The uprising of AD 60–61 occurred less than two decades after the Roman invasion begun under Emperor Claudius in AD 43. Roman control of Britain was therefore still comparatively recent, and resistance had by no means disappeared.
Boudica's rebellion demonstrated just how vulnerable the province could become when Roman forces were dispersed and local opposition gathered sufficient momentum.
Rather than arranging IC-09B in a regular military line, place him among a loose mass of warriors at different stages of their charge. The resulting contrast with the compact Roman formations can be particularly effective.
