MAD-02 – Madras Officer
MAD-02 – Madras Officer provides the command figure needed to give a formation of Madras Sepoys leadership and structure.
Officers within the presidency armies served in forces that were central to the political and military expansion of the East India Company. Campaigns could involve Indian kingdoms, regional powers, European rivals and shifting alliances, making the military history of Company rule considerably more complex than a simple British-versus-Indian narrative.
An officer had to maintain discipline and communicate orders within an infantry unit trained to manoeuvre and fight as an organised formation.
In miniature, place MAD-02 among the Sepoys rather than well behind them. This creates the impression of an officer actively directing his men under battlefield conditions.
Add firing and ready poses from MAD-03 and MAD-04 and the small group can quickly become a convincing Madras infantry section.
