For the men of the Saxon Fyrd, standing in the shield wall meant facing not only the enemy directly ahead but also the threat of missiles raining down upon the formation.

SX-61A – Two Wounded Fyrdmen captures this moment with two complementary figures. The standing warrior, carrying a black and white shield, has been struck by an arrow, while the second warrior crouches defensively behind his red and black shield.

These figures are ideal for positioning within a formation under attack, where their poses immediately create the impression that enemy missile fire is beginning to have an effect.
