Cycnus of Kolonai belongs to the wider cycle of legends surrounding the Trojan War and was remembered as one of the rulers who opposed the Greek forces during the early stages of the conflict.

Tradition portrays Cycnus as an exceptionally formidable warrior, with some versions of his story describing him as invulnerable to conventional weapons. His fate became linked with Achilles, who eventually overcame him despite the king’s extraordinary protection.
