WIS2-03 – 2nd Wisconsin | John Jenkins Designs
The men of the 2nd Wisconsin Infantry experienced the transformation of the Union Army from an inexperienced force in 1861 into the battle-hardened army that would fight through four years of civil war.
WIS2-03 represents soldiers from this historic Wisconsin regiment during the early period of the conflict.
The regiment fought at First Bull Run before becoming part of the formation eventually known as the Iron Brigade, whose soldiers would see severe action at Second Bull Run, South Mountain, Antietam and Gettysburg.
Figures such as WIS2-03 are particularly effective when combined with the larger multi-figure sets in the series. Different poses scattered through the ranks give the formation a much more natural appearance and allow collectors to gradually build an impressive body of Union infantry.
Add officers, standards and additional Wisconsin soldiers and the result can become a striking representation of one of the best-known infantry formations of the American Civil War.
Available through The Military Workshop – another fine John Jenkins Designs release representing the men of the 2nd Wisconsin Infantry.
