Rather than showing an entire regiment in one rigid formation, the Wheat's Tigers figures capture separate episodes within an unfolding Civil War battle. Their command, fighting and support poses can be combined to create a much fuller scene than a single soldier could provide.
The Dead figure presents the stark human cost of battle within the Wheat's Tigers range. Whereas the other soldiers charge, fire and defend themselves, this miniature depicts the aftermath of those actions. It can be placed near a contested section of a diorama to give the fighting a more sobering context and remind the viewer that the conflict carried terrible consequences for individuals.
This 54mm figure works particularly well alongside the other Wheat's Tigers releases, allowing collectors to portray a unit with command figures, firing positions, advancing men and battlefield support all represented together.
