CRU-20 – Crusader Spearman | John Jenkins Designs

The Crusades began during the late 11th century, following Pope Urban II's call for an armed expedition to assist the Byzantine Empire and undertake a pilgrimage to Jerusalem.

The First Crusade was proclaimed at the Council of Clermont in 1095 and attracted participants from several regions of Western Europe.

Although mounted knights became closely associated with these campaigns, infantrymen also formed an important part of the Crusading armies.

John Jenkins Designs represents these different military formations through its Crusades collection, which includes mounted knights, spearmen and swordsmen.

CRU-20 – Crusader Spearman by John Jenkins Designs depicts an infantryman armed with a spear, representing the foot soldiers who accompanied the Crusading armies.

This figure complements the manufacturer's other Crusader spearmen and swordsmen, allowing collectors to assemble a larger medieval infantry formation.

Part of the John Jenkins Designs The Crusades collection, this miniature is particularly suitable for displaying alongside mounted Crusader knights and other soldiers from the period.
