CRU-27 – Wounded Crusader Swordsman | John Jenkins Designs

The Crusades were a series of religiously motivated military campaigns that began during the late 11th century.

In 1095, Pope Urban II proclaimed the First Crusade at the Council of Clermont, encouraging military support for the Byzantine Empire and an armed pilgrimage to Jerusalem.

The armies assembled for these campaigns included mounted knights and infantrymen equipped with a variety of medieval weapons.

The campaigns brought these forces into numerous military engagements, with infantry and cavalry playing important roles during the fighting.

CRU-27 – Wounded Crusader Swordsman by John Jenkins Designs depicts a wounded Crusader infantryman, representing a casualty of medieval combat.

Unlike the advancing and fighting soldiers in the collection, this figure introduces an additional battlefield element to a Crusader display.

The wounded swordsman is particularly suitable for positioning alongside the other Crusader infantry figures, providing greater variety to a scene depicting the fighting of the period.

Part of the John Jenkins Designs The Crusades collection, this miniature complements the manufacturer's Crusader swordsmen, spearmen and mounted knights.
