VIK-20B – Viking Warrior | John Jenkins Designs

The Vikings developed military tactics suited to the warfare of early medieval Europe, where opposing forces frequently confronted one another in tightly packed infantry formations.

One of the attacking formations associated with Viking warfare was the Svinfylking, or "Swine Array".

According to the historical information provided by John Jenkins Designs, this wedge-shaped formation was traditionally associated with the god Odin and was intended to break through an opposing shield wall.

Its effectiveness depended upon the momentum and concentrated force of the initial assault. If the enemy line withstood the attack, the warriors within the formation could find themselves exposed to counterattacks.

VIK-20B – Viking Warrior by John Jenkins Designs represents a charging Viking infantryman from the Svinfylking formation.

This B variation provides an additional figure for collectors assembling a larger group of charging warriors.

Designed to complement VIK-20A and the other Viking infantry figures, this miniature is suitable for recreating an attacking formation advancing towards an opposing army.
