Before Rome became the dominant power of Italy, the Samnites were among its most determined and dangerous opponents.

Living in the mountainous regions of central and southern Italy, the Samnite peoples fought a series of major wars against Rome during the fourth and early third centuries BC. Their familiarity with broken terrain made them formidable opponents in country poorly suited to rigid formations.

CTSM-08N – 4 Samnite Warriors brings four warriors together in one substantial group. Their equipment reflects the colourful and varied appearance associated with Samnite warfare, including spears and javelins, different shield forms and distinctive Italian armour.

Grouped against Mid-Republic Roman infantry, the four warriors immediately create the beginnings of a strong opposing force.
