GG03-02N – 3rd East Kent Regiment | John Jenkins Designs
The 2nd Battalion, 3rd Regiment of Foot – the East Kent Regiment or “The Buffs” formed part of Lord Chelmsford’s force sent to relieve the besieged British garrison at Eshowe.
That advance resulted in the Battle of Gingindlovu on 2 April 1879, where Chelmsford’s troops fought from a carefully prepared defensive position as a large Zulu impi attacked from several directions.
GG03-02N provides a larger grouping of East Kent infantry, ideal for constructing one section of the British defensive line. Combined with artillery, Naval Brigade figures, colonial troops and other infantry, the figures can form part of a substantial Gingindlovu battlefield.
Repeated infantry groupings are particularly effective around a laager, giving the defensive position the densely manned appearance required for this type of scene.
Now available from The Military Workshop – a substantial John Jenkins Designs East Kent infantry set for the Eshowe Relief Column.
