QB-24 - 28th Wounded | John Jenkins Designs

This two-figure set represents wounded British soldiers of the 28th Regiment of Foot during the Battle of the Plains of Abraham on 13 September 1759.

The figures portray wounded line infantry firing their weapons, capturing the continuing action of British soldiers during the fierce fighting of the Quebec campaign.

The 28th Regiment of Foot formed part of the British forces represented in the Battle of Quebec collection, alongside other infantry regiments, grenadiers and supporting troops.

The campaign against Quebec was conducted under the command of General James Wolfe, whose army sought to capture the strategically important French city.

After extensive military operations along the St. Lawrence River, the campaign culminated in the Battle of the Plains of Abraham, fought outside the walls of Quebec.

The engagement resulted in a British victory and became one of the defining events of the French and Indian War.

These wounded infantrymen provide an important addition to a historical battlefield display, illustrating the human cost of the fighting rather than simply depicting soldiers advancing or marching.

The set complements other figures of the 28th Regiment of Foot, including firing infantry, grenadiers, officers and standard bearers.

An excellent choice for collectors wishing to create a detailed representation of the British line during the Battle of Quebec.
