QBOAT-03 - Grenadiers | John Jenkins Designs

This impressive twelve-figure set represents Grenadiers of the British 15th Regiment of Foot during the Quebec campaign of 1759.

Designed for the Quebec Landing Barge collection, the figures represent British troops associated with the military operations conducted by General James Wolfe against French forces defending Quebec.

The 15th Regiment of Foot was originally raised in 1685 under Sir William Clifton and was known as Clifton's Regiment of Foot.

During the early 18th century, the regiment served in the army of the Duke of Marlborough, participating in major European engagements including Blenheim, Ramillies, Oudenarde and Malplaquet.

The regiment received its numerical designation as the 15th Regiment of Foot in 1751 and subsequently took part in the French and Indian War.

It participated in the capture of Louisbourg in 1758 before joining General Wolfe's army during the campaign against Quebec.

On 13 September 1759, British and French forces fought the decisive Battle of the Plains of Abraham, which resulted in the British capture of Quebec.

The regiment subsequently participated in the defence of Quebec and the expedition against Montreal in 1760.

The twelve grenadiers provide an excellent addition to a British landing scene, particularly when displayed alongside the separately available Quebec Landing Barge and its crew.
