RR-31N - Roger's Rangers | John Jenkins Designs

This four-figure set represents Roger's Rangers, the specialist colonial light infantry force commanded by Major Robert Rogers during the French and Indian War.

The set depicts two standing Rangers aiming their muskets and two kneeling Rangers preparing their weapons. The contrasting positions allow collectors to arrange the soldiers into a coordinated skirmishing formation.

Roger's Rangers originated as a company raised in the Province of New Hampshire and attached to the British Army during the Seven Years' War.

The unit became particularly valued for its ability to gather intelligence, scout enemy territory and undertake specialised operations against distant targets.

Rogers organised his men around the principles of unconventional warfare, drawing upon established colonial frontier methods. His instructions were eventually codified into the 28 Rules of Ranging.

The effectiveness of the Rangers encouraged the expansion of the original company into a much larger corps, consisting of more than a dozen companies at its height.

By the late 1750s, the Rangers had become one of the principal scouting forces supporting British military operations in North America.

This four-figure set is an excellent addition to a historical woodland battle display, particularly when combined with other Rangers from the Raid on St. Francis series.
