RR-32 - Roger's Rangers | John Jenkins Designs
This two-figure set depicts Roger's Rangers engaged in the scouting and tracking activities for which the corps became particularly well known during the French and Indian War.
One Ranger is shown standing with his musket and axe, while the second kneels to examine tracks on the ground. These complementary poses illustrate the importance of observation and reconnaissance during military operations in the North American wilderness.
Roger's Rangers were raised under Major Robert Rogers and employed by the British Army as specialist light infantry. Their responsibilities extended beyond conventional battlefield engagements to include gathering intelligence, scouting enemy territory and conducting raids.
The Rangers operated according to principles developed from earlier colonial frontier experience, which Rogers formalised in his 28 Rules of Ranging.
Their ability to move through difficult terrain and gather information about enemy activity made them particularly valuable to British commanders.
This distinctive two-figure set provides an interesting alternative to the firing and advancing soldiers represented elsewhere in the collection.
It is especially suitable for recreating a woodland reconnaissance patrol or a scene depicting Rangers searching for evidence of enemy movement.
Now available from The Military Workshop.
