RR-33N - Roger's Rangers | John Jenkins Designs
This four-figure set depicts Roger's Rangers during the French and Indian War, representing members of the specialist light infantry force commanded by Major Robert Rogers.
The set includes two standing Rangers ramming their muskets and two kneeling Rangers firing. These complementary poses create a varied battlefield formation and illustrate the loading and firing activities associated with the use of muskets in combat.
Roger's Rangers were originally raised in New Hampshire and attached to British forces operating in North America during the Seven Years' War.
The corps became renowned for its reconnaissance and raiding operations, with soldiers trained to undertake missions requiring speed, mobility and knowledge of frontier conditions.
Rogers drew upon established colonial warfare practices and developed a series of instructions known as the 28 Rules of Ranging.
Their effectiveness encouraged the expansion of the original company into a corps of more than a dozen companies, becoming one of the British Army's principal scouting forces in North America.
This four-figure set is particularly suitable for creating larger skirmishing formations and can be displayed alongside other Roger's Rangers figures to represent the coordinated activities of a woodland fighting force.
Now available from The Military Workshop.
