RRB60-04 - Line At Ease | John Jenkins Designs
This two-figure set represents soldiers of the 60th (Royal American) Regiment of Foot during the French and Indian War.
The figures are depicted standing at ease, providing an alternative to the marching, firing and skirmishing infantry represented elsewhere in the collection.
The 60th Regiment, later associated with the King's Royal Rifle Corps, has a long history of service connected with North America and Canada.
Following the defeat of General Braddock's expedition in 1755, British authorities approved the formation of a regiment consisting of four battalions, with recruitment intended to draw upon men from Germany and German communities in North America.
Originally designated the 62nd, or Royal American, Regiment of Foot, the unit was redesignated the 60th Regiment in February 1757.
Despite difficulties encountered during recruitment, the Royal Americans developed into an important formation within the British Army.
This limited-edition set of 500 provides an excellent addition to a British infantry display, particularly when combined with other Royal American soldiers to create a varied regimental formation.
Now available from The Military Workshop.
