RRB60-09B - Drummer #2 | John Jenkins Designs

This Drummer #2 represents a military musician of the 60th (Royal American) Regiment of Foot during the French and Indian War.

The figure provides an alternative drummer for collectors assembling a representation of the Royal American Regiment, complementing the other musicians, officers and infantry figures in the collection.

The regiment was formed during the French and Indian War following the defeat of General Braddock's expedition in 1755.

British authorities authorised the raising of four battalions, with recruitment intended to include German soldiers and settlers from German communities in North America.

Originally known as the 62nd, or Royal American, Regiment of Foot, the regiment received its designation as the 60th in February 1757.

Although recruitment proved difficult, the unit eventually became a distinguished component of the British Army and later developed associations with the King's Royal Rifle Corps.

This individual drummer offers collectors another figure for constructing a varied Royal American formation.

It makes an excellent addition to a military parade, regimental assembly or historical display featuring the British Regulars of the period.
