RRB60-16N - 4 Skirmishing | John Jenkins Designs

This four-figure set represents line infantry of the 60th (Royal American) Regiment of Foot skirmishing during the French and Indian War.

The set provides four British regular infantrymen, allowing collectors to develop a larger skirmishing formation within the Raid on St. Francis collection.

The Royal American Regiment was established in response to the military challenges experienced by British forces during the early years of the conflict.

Following General Braddock's defeat in 1755, a new regiment of four battalions was authorised, with recruitment planned among German soldiers and settlers in North America.

Originally designated the 62nd Regiment of Foot, it was renamed the 60th (Royal American) Regiment in February 1757.

The regiment subsequently developed into an important part of the British military establishment, despite considerable difficulties encountered during its initial recruitment.

These four skirmishing infantrymen provide an excellent addition to a British battlefield display, particularly when combined with the smaller two-figure sets, officers, drummers and marching soldiers.

Now available from The Military Workshop.
