RRBC-02N - Connecticut Reg. Set | John Jenkins Designs

This four-figure set represents line infantry of the Connecticut Provincial Regiment standing at attention during the French and Indian War.

The figures belong to the colonial military forces raised in Connecticut to support British military operations against French forces in North America.

In August 1755, the First and Second Connecticut Provincial Regiments participated in an expedition against Fort Saint-Frédéric, located near present-day Crown Point.

These regiments contributed approximately 850 men to the force commanded by William Johnson of New York.

The Connecticut Provincials also participated in the military operations around Lake George and the establishment of British defensive positions during the campaign.

Further provincial troops were raised throughout the following years as the conflict continued.

In March 1758, the Connecticut Assembly approved the raising of 5,000 provincial soldiers, organised into four regiments of twelve companies each.

These troops subsequently took part in the British expedition against Fort Carillon in July 1758.

This four-figure set provides an excellent addition to a Connecticut Provincial Regiment collection, particularly when displayed alongside other line infantry, officers and drummers.
