RRBC-03 - Connecticut Reg. | John Jenkins Designs
This two-figure set depicts line infantry of the Connecticut Provincial Regiment standing at attention during the French and Indian War.
The figures represent colonial soldiers raised to support British military operations during the struggle for control of North America.
Connecticut made a substantial contribution to the British military effort, providing provincial troops for several important campaigns.
In August 1755, approximately 850 men from the First and Second Connecticut Provincial Regiments participated in William Johnson's expedition against Fort Saint-Frédéric.
The campaign included operations around Lake George and the establishment of British defensive positions.
Connecticut continued to raise provincial soldiers throughout the conflict, providing additional forces during the campaigns of 1756 and 1757.
In March 1758, the colonial Assembly authorised the raising of 5,000 men, organised into four regiments.
These troops participated in the British expedition against Fort Carillon in July 1758.
This two-figure set complements the wider Connecticut Provincial collection and is particularly suitable for building an at-attention infantry formation alongside officers, drummers and other regimental figures.
