RRBC-09B - Drummer | John Jenkins Designs
This Connecticut Provincial Drummer represents a military musician serving with the colonial forces of Connecticut during the French and Indian War.
Identified as Drummer #2, the figure provides an additional regimental musician to accompany Connecticut's infantry formations.
Connecticut contributed substantial numbers of troops to British military operations during the conflict with France in North America.
In 1755, approximately 850 Connecticut provincial soldiers participated in William Johnson's expedition against Fort Saint-Frédéric.
The campaign included military operations around Lake George and the establishment of defensive positions in the region.
As the war continued, Connecticut raised additional forces, including substantial reinforcements following the fall of Fort William Henry in 1757.
In March 1758, the colonial Assembly authorised the raising of 5,000 provincial troops, organised into four regiments.
These troops subsequently participated in the campaign against Fort Carillon.
This individual drummer complements the Connecticut Regiment's line infantry and other musicians, providing a useful addition to a historical regimental formation or military assembly.
Now available from The Military Workshop.
