RRBC-09C - Drummer | John Jenkins Designs
This Connecticut Provincial Drummer represents a member of the colonial military forces raised in Connecticut during the French and Indian War.
The figure is identified as Drummer #3 and offers another individual musician for collectors assembling a historical Connecticut Provincial Regiment display.
Connecticut was an important contributor to British military operations in North America, raising several provincial regiments throughout the conflict.
In August 1755, Connecticut troops participated in William Johnson's campaign against Fort Saint-Frédéric, with military operations taking place around Lake George.
Further provincial forces were organised during the following years as the British continued their campaigns against French positions.
Following the fall of Fort William Henry in 1757, Connecticut raised additional troops to reinforce British forces on the frontier.
In March 1758, the Connecticut Assembly authorised the establishment of four regiments comprising 5,000 men.
These soldiers subsequently participated in the campaign against Fort Carillon.
This individual drummer makes an excellent addition to the Connecticut Provincial Regiment collection, particularly when displayed alongside officers, line infantry and other drummers.
Now available from The Military Workshop.
