RRBNJ-02N - New Jersey Set #2 | John Jenkins Designs
This four-figure set depicts line infantry of the New Jersey Provincial Regiment standing at attention during the French and Indian War.
Known as the Jersey Blues, the New Jersey Provincials formed part of the colonial military forces raised to support British operations in North America during the conflict with France.
The regiment was established in 1755 by the New Jersey provincial government and initially consisted of five companies.
The soldiers became known as the Jersey Blues, a name associated with their distinctive blue coats and the uniforms previously worn by New Jersey troops.
During the war, the regiment served on the northern frontier and participated in several important military campaigns.
In April 1758, the New Jersey General Assembly voted to increase the regiment's strength to 1,000 officers and men, including a grenadier company.
That same year, the regiment took part in the British campaign against Fort Carillon, culminating in the battle fought on 8 July 1758.
This four-figure set provides an excellent foundation for a larger New Jersey infantry formation, particularly when combined with the regiment's marching figures, drummers and officers.
Now available from The Military Workshop.
