RRBNJ-05N - 4 Marching | John Jenkins Designs
This four-figure set represents marching line infantry of the New Jersey Provincial Regiment during the French and Indian War.
The soldiers are depicted on the march, providing an opportunity to recreate a larger column of provincial troops during the military campaigns in North America.
The regiment was raised by the New Jersey government in 1755 and became known as the Jersey Blues, a name partly derived from the distinctive blue coats worn by its soldiers.
The Jersey Blues served on the northern frontier during the war, participating in military expeditions and garrison duties.
In 1755, the regiment joined an expedition directed towards Fort Niagara, although the campaign was eventually abandoned.
During the following years, New Jersey provincial troops continued to support British operations, including the defence of important frontier positions.
In 1758, the regiment was reorganised and expanded before participating in the campaign against Fort Carillon, or Ticonderoga.
These four marching figures are an excellent addition to a New Jersey Provincial Regiment collection, particularly when displayed alongside the regiment's officers, drummers and other infantry figures to create a substantial marching formation.
Now available from The Military Workshop.
