RRBNJ-06N - 4 Marching | John Jenkins Designs
This four-figure set depicts marching soldiers of the New Jersey Provincial Regiment, representing the colonial troops known as the Jersey Blues during the French and Indian War.
The figures form the manufacturer's second marching infantry set, providing another group of soldiers with which collectors can expand a New Jersey provincial formation.
The Jersey Blues were raised in 1755 to assist British military operations against French forces in North America.
Their original strength consisted of five companies, and the regiment became closely associated with the distinctive blue coats worn by its soldiers.
Throughout the conflict, the New Jersey Provincials participated in frontier campaigns, garrison duties and military expeditions.
In 1757, the regiment suffered substantial losses during operations around Lake George and Fort William Henry.
The regiment was reformed in 1758 under Colonel John Johnson, with an authorised strength of 1,000 men.
It subsequently participated in the British campaign against Fort Carillon, including the battle fought on 8 July 1758.
This four-figure marching set complements the other New Jersey Provincial infantry releases, allowing collectors to create larger marching columns or complete regimental displays.
