RRBNJ-08N - Grenadiers Set | John Jenkins Designs

This four-figure set depicts Grenadiers of the New Jersey Provincial Regiment standing at attention during the French and Indian War.

The regiment, commonly known as the Jersey Blues, was raised in 1755 by the New Jersey provincial government to support British military operations against French forces in North America.

The Jersey Blues took part in several important campaigns, including operations around Oswego, Fort William Henry and Fort Carillon.

Following serious losses during the campaigns of 1757, the regiment was reformed and expanded.

In April 1758, the New Jersey General Assembly authorised an establishment of 1,000 officers and men, including a grenadier company of 100 soldiers.

The manufacturer's historical notes identify the New Jersey Provincials as the only provincial regiment to maintain a grenadier company, making these soldiers a distinctive part of the colonial forces represented in the collection.

In July 1758, the regiment participated in the British expedition against Fort Carillon.

This four-figure set provides an excellent opportunity to create a larger grenadier formation, particularly when combined with New Jersey line infantry and the regiment's command figures.
