RRBNJ-09C - Drummer | John Jenkins Designs

This New Jersey Provincial Drummer represents a member of the Jersey Blues during the French and Indian War, when colonial regiments supported British military operations against French forces in North America.

Identified as Drummer #3, the figure provides an additional musician for collectors assembling a detailed representation of the New Jersey Provincial Regiment.

The Jersey Blues were raised by the New Jersey provincial government in 1755 and were originally organised into five companies.

The regiment was sent to the northern frontier, where its soldiers took part in important military campaigns and the defence of British positions.

The regiment's distinctive blue coats contributed to its familiar nickname, the Jersey Blues.

Following difficult military operations and substantial losses during 1757, the regiment was reorganised under Colonel John Johnson.

In July 1758, the New Jersey Provincials participated in the expedition against Fort Carillon, including the unsuccessful British assault of 8 July.

This individual drummer makes an excellent companion to the regiment's officers and infantry, particularly when combined with the other drummer variations to create a more complete colonial military display.
