RRBPEN-09B - Drummer #2 | John Jenkins Designs

This Pennsylvanian Provincial Drummer represents a military musician serving with the colonial forces of Pennsylvania during the French and Indian War.

Identified as Drummer #2, the figure provides an additional regimental musician for collectors assembling a historical representation of the Pennsylvanian Provincial Regiment.

The regiment was organised following General Braddock's defeat at the Battle on the Monongahela in July 1755.

As attacks against frontier settlements increased, Pennsylvania began establishing defensive positions and organising volunteer military companies.

In November 1755, the colonial Assembly authorised the creation of a provincial regiment from existing volunteers and militia.

By March 1756, the regiment had been divided into two battalions under Lieutenant-Colonel Conrad Weiser and Colonel John Armstrong.

A third battalion was subsequently organised under Colonel William Clapham to strengthen the defence of the Augusta region.

This individual drummer complements the Pennsylvanian Regiment's infantry and officers, providing a useful addition to an at-attention formation or historical military assembly.

Now available from The Military Workshop.
