RRBPEN-09C - Drummer #3 | John Jenkins Designs
This Pennsylvanian Provincial Drummer represents a member of the colonial military forces established in Pennsylvania during the French and Indian War.
The figure is identified as Drummer #3 and provides another variation for collectors wishing to assemble a detailed Pennsylvanian Provincial Regiment formation.
The regiment was formed in response to the growing need for organised military defence following General Braddock's defeat in July 1755.
During the following months, French and allied forces conducted attacks against frontier settlements, prompting Pennsylvania's colonial authorities to establish new defensive measures.
In November 1755, the Pennsylvania Assembly authorised the creation of a provincial regiment from existing militia and volunteer companies.
The force was formally organised into two battalions in March 1756, commanded by Lieutenant-Colonel Conrad Weiser and Colonel John Armstrong.
A third battalion was later established under Colonel William Clapham.
This individual drummer provides a distinctive addition to the Pennsylvanian Provincial Regiment collection, particularly when displayed with the other drummers, officers and line infantry to create a more complete historical military formation.
Now available from The Military Workshop.
