RTA153 – “The Shouting Sentry”

For thirteen tense days, the defenders of the Alamo watched and waited as Santa Anna’s forces surrounded the mission. Sentries stationed around the perimeter had the vital responsibility of watching Mexican positions and raising the alarm at any sign of movement.

In the darkness before dawn on 6 March 1836, that responsibility became critical. Mexican assault columns began moving towards the Alamo, attempting to approach before the defenders could fully react. Once the alarm was raised, the garrison had only moments to take up their positions.

King & Country’s RTA153 “The Shouting Sentry” captures that dramatic instant — a defender calling out a warning as danger approaches.

Now available from The Military Workshop, RTA153 has plenty of storytelling potential. Positioned on a wall, beside a barricade or among other defenders scrambling into action, this figure can become a terrific focal point in an Alamo display depicting those crucial first moments of the final assault.
