TR022 – “Katherine of Aragon & Anne of Cleves”

Two queens, two very different marriages, and two women who survived the turbulent court of King Henry VIII.

Katherine of Aragon became Henry’s first wife and was Queen of England for more than two decades. Their marriage ultimately collapsed over Henry’s determination to secure a male heir and his desire to marry Anne Boleyn. Katherine steadfastly maintained that she was Henry’s lawful wife until her death in 1536.

Anne of Cleves, Henry’s fourth wife, experienced a remarkably different fate. Their marriage in 1540 lasted only around six months before being annulled. Anne accepted the decision and received a generous settlement, subsequently enjoying a comfortable position in England as the king’s “beloved sister.”

King & Country brings these two remarkable Tudor women together in TR022 “Katherine of Aragon & Anne of Cleves.” Their contrasting stories provide a fascinating glimpse into the marriages, politics and personalities surrounding Henry VIII.

The Military Workshop is pleased to have this fascinating pairing available for Tudor collectors, and TR022 makes a natural companion to the other royal personalities in King & Country’s Tudor series.
