WSP-146 - Banker and The Accountant | John Jenkins Designs

This four-piece set, titled "The Banker and The Accountant", represents the financial and commercial activities associated with the great gold rushes of the 19th century.

The release forms part of the Gold Rush collection, depicting the people and businesses that developed around rapidly expanding mining settlements.

Gold discoveries throughout North America and other parts of the world attracted thousands of prospectors hoping to make their fortunes.

The California Gold Rush of 1848–1855 became one of the most celebrated examples, transforming remote settlements into bustling commercial centres as miners arrived in search of gold.

Although some prospectors achieved considerable wealth, the goldfields also created opportunities for merchants, bankers, accountants and other businesses providing essential services.

Financial institutions became particularly important as expanding settlements required facilities for handling money, supporting trade and managing the wealth generated by mining.

The movement of people and capital during the gold rushes contributed to permanent settlement and substantial economic development.

This distinctive set provides an excellent addition to a Gold Rush street or commercial display, particularly when combined with other figures representing the businesses and everyday activities of frontier settlements.

Now available from The Military Workshop.
