CRU-02 – Crusader Knight | John Jenkins Designs

The Crusades were a series of military campaigns initiated and supported by the Catholic Church, beginning during the late 11th century.

In 1095, Pope Urban II proclaimed the First Crusade at the Council of Clermont, encouraging military assistance for the Byzantine Emperor against the Seljuk Turks and an armed pilgrimage to Jerusalem.

The Crusading armies brought together soldiers from different parts of Western Europe, including mounted knights and infantrymen.

Mounted knights became one of the most recognisable elements of the Crusading armies, representing the military traditions of medieval European warfare.

CRU-02 – Crusader Knight by John Jenkins Designs depicts a mounted Crusader warrior armed with a spear held at approximately 45 degrees.

The knight carries a distinctive white kite shield decorated with a red cross, representing the religious symbolism associated with the Crusading movement.

The mounted figure complements the other Crusader knights and infantrymen in the manufacturer's collection.

Part of the John Jenkins Designs The Crusades range, this miniature is an excellent addition to a display featuring the military campaigns of the medieval Crusaders.
