EGYPT018 – The Juggler

While Pharaohs and monumental temples dominate our image of ancient Egypt, entertainment also formed part of Egyptian social life. Artistic evidence from ancient Egypt depicts performers, acrobats, dancers and people engaged in juggling-type activities.

EGYPT018 – The Juggler captures this lighter side of the ancient world.

Placed before royalty, among dancers and musicians or at the centre of a public celebration, the figure helps create a scene filled with activity rather than military confrontation.

Available through The Military Workshop – a wonderfully characterful Thomas Gunn Juggler bringing entertainment, movement and a touch of everyday humanity to an Ancient Egyptian collection.
