GW001B – Flamethrower – Without Gas Mask

The First World War saw the introduction and rapid development of weapons specifically intended to overcome the defensive strength of trenches and fortified positions.

Among the most feared was the flamethrower, used by specialised German assault troops to attack bunkers, trenches and strongpoints at very close range.

GW001B depicts a German flamethrower operator without a gas mask, allowing the soldier's face and specialised equipment to be clearly seen.

The cumbersome fuel tanks immediately distinguish him from conventional infantry and make the figure a dramatic addition to a trench-assault scene.

Available through The Military Workshop – a striking Thomas Gunn WWI flamethrower figure representing one of the specialised weapons developed for the brutal realities of trench warfare.
