GW005 – Stokes Mortar Set – France
Simple, reliable and remarkably effective, the Stokes mortar became one of the most important British infantry support weapons of the First World War.
Its high-angle fire allowed bombs to be dropped into trenches and positions that were protected from ordinary rifle and machine-gun fire.
GW005 – Stokes Mortar Set France recreates this valuable weapon in the environment where it became famous.
A mortar position surrounded by ammunition, crewmen and trench scenery provides an excellent counterpoint to figures fighting directly along the front line.
Available from The Military Workshop – a substantial Thomas Gunn Stokes Mortar set bringing essential indirect fire support to a WWI battlefield in France.
