GW028B – Germans with Gas Masks – Standing & Kneeling Firing

Few pieces of equipment are more immediately associated with the horrors of the First World War than the gas mask.

GW028B depicts German soldiers in standing and kneeling firing positions while wearing gas masks, creating a particularly atmospheric battlefield pairing.

The masks transform what would otherwise be conventional rifle poses into a scene suggesting chemical contamination, poor visibility and the constant danger faced by troops on the Western Front.

Available from The Military Workshop – a striking Thomas Gunn two-man German firing set capturing the unsettling appearance of soldiers fighting under the threat of poison gas.
