GW038A – French Grenadier in ARS Gas Mask

France suffered enormously from chemical warfare during the First World War and developed several forms of respiratory protection as the threat evolved.

GW038A – French Grenadier wears an ARS gas mask, the later French protective mask introduced during the war, while carrying the equipment of a frontline fighting soldier.

The unusual mask gives the figure a striking appearance and makes him particularly appropriate for a late-war French trench scene.

Available from The Military Workshop – a distinctive Thomas Gunn French Grenadier representing the equipment developed to survive the chemical battlefield of the Great War.
