GW075 – Oswald Boelcke – WWI German Pilot
Before Richthofen became the most famous German ace, Oswald Boelcke was already helping establish the principles of fighter combat.
Boelcke was not simply a successful pilot. His famous Dicta Boelcke set out fundamental rules for aerial combat, and his influence extended to the pilots he trained and mentored – including the young Manfred von Richthofen.
Credited with 40 victories, Boelcke was killed in 1916 following a mid-air collision during combat.
GW075 commemorates one of the most influential figures in the early development of fighter aviation.
Available through The Military Workshop – a Thomas Gunn portrayal of Oswald Boelcke, pioneering fighter ace, tactician and mentor to a generation of German combat pilots.
